Interscope Recording Artist Jasmine V. is a phenomenally popular young singer who is quickly leaving her footprint in the music industry. “We’re stamping Jasmine V a future pop sensation who will steal the spotlight,” Vibe says of the young singer.
The 21-year-old San Jose, California native has already accumulated an impressive career. Through numerous TV, music video, and live performances, Jasmine has amassed a small cult following. With the release of her 2014 EP, That’s Me Right There, she managed to capture the hearts of international audiences everywhere. Her single, “That’s Me Right There,” ft. Kendrick Lamar became an instant hit and earned her a coveted spot in Clear Channel’s On The Verge program. She most recently headlined the Macy’s Hispanic Heritage Month Tour and also joined Fifth Harmony on The Reflection Tour.
Jasmine’s impact is evidenced by her popularity on social media. She currently has more than 100 million YouTube views, over 1.69 million followers on Twitter, over 973k Facebook likes and more than 766k followers on Instagram. She has found success in a number of professional arenas. Jasmine has not only appeared on hit television shows such as Disney’s “That So Raven” and “The Suite Life of Zach and Cody” but has also appeared in a number of print advertisements for American Girl, Levi’s, Girl Scouts, and more. As well, she is involved in several non-profits including L.A.’s Best, Geffen Playhouse, the Boys and Girls Club of America, and No More.
Her electrifying vocal ability earned her a spot on Justin Bieber’s 40-city My World Tour and impelled the subsequent success of her 2011 mixtape, “S(he) Be(lie)ve(d).” The mixtape yielded three successful buzz tracks: “Jealous,” “Werk” and “Just A Friend.” The nine track mixtape delves into an array of topics in a way that is both edgy, yet clean; a balance which the young star has mastered.
Discovered at age 11, Jasmine perfected her skills under the direction of music mogul Dame Dash’s Dash Music Group, and current manager, Gabriella Mosci. That same year, she garnered much attention after an impressive rendition of the national anthem at a Los Angeles Clippers game. Since then, Villegas has gone on to perform at over 15 sporting events, including the Mayweather vs. Ortiz boxing match, an appearance which generated enough buzz to land her a spot as the #1 trending topic on Twitter. For the past few years, she has travelled throughout the United States and overseas performing. In turn, Villegas has solidified both an international presence and fan base.
Jasmine recently released a video for her heartfelt single “Walk Away.” The track showcases Jasmine’s versatility as an artist mixing R&B and EDM to create an all-out electronic party song. The single leaves fans more excited for the release of her full length debut album.
Jasmine is scheduled to go on tour with Jake Miller in July 2015.
